Jyoti Gondek – A Candidate for Calgary’s Mayoral Election

Jyoti Gondek is currently the Ward 3 Councillor for the City of Calgary. She lives in a multigenerational home with her family in north central Calgary.

Jyoti grew up in the United Kingdom and Manitoba, spending her childhood listening to music, reading books, playing basketball and enjoying the outdoors.

Although her family experienced incidents of discrimination, Jyoti was also able to see a shift to inclusion over the years as more South Asian families settled in Manitoba. Jyoti continues to be a champion for diversity on Calgary City Council.
